On Route 139 in Marshfield,  three miles from my finish, I nearly got hit by a car pulling out of Friendly’s, which currently is McDonalds. My only close call that week.

Marshfield . . . and into the ocean at Fieldston.

Four 10-hour days and one 4-hour day -- about 200 miles. It was around Halloween, and it got dark early, so I had to start each day at 7am and quit each day at 5pm.

29 towns

WHY? In the original movie "The Magnificent Seven" someone asks actor Steve McQueen why he is he about to do something CRAZY. He replies that he saw a cowboy in Abilene one time take off all his clothes and jump into a pile of cactus. When Steve asked the cowboy why he did that, the cowboy replied,  "It seemed like a good idea at the time."
